Siliguri Municipal Corporation executed the demolition of 22 illegal constructions in the Pradhan Nagar area on Friday, following the directives of the Calcutta High Court. The court's decision came in response to Siliguri Municipal Corporation's appeal regarding the unauthorized structures, and the demolition operation was carried out with the assistance of four earth movers.
The affected constructions, including houses and shops, were removed to reclaim government land occupied illegally. Amidst the operation, Pradhan Nagar police station personnel were present to maintain order and handle any potential disruptions.
